Kate Kendell takes her fight for civil rights from Utah to the city by the bay

07/31/09 Salt Lake Tribune:

Kate Kendell, executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, grew up in the Morman church. She told reporter Peg McEntee:
"[I]t dehumanizes my family, and families like mine, to suggest our value as a family is a threat to the church of my childhood. But it's also painful because I think the church will be proven wrong as a matter of history, and that, more than anything gay people could do, will marginalize it as a world religion. And I think it's utterly unnecessary."
