Wisconsin Supreme Court to review dual-issue challenge to state's constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage

05/14/09 Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel:

The Wisconsin Supreme Court will review a case in which plaintiff Bill McConkey alleges that "the wording of the 2006 constitutional amendment [Art. XIII, Sec. 13] improperly asked voters to do two things: define the only valid marriage as between a man and woman and define the legal rights of the unmarried." The Court granted review on May 12th; briefs are due on June 11th.

05/14/09 Wisconsin Family Voice:

The Wisconsin Family Council says that its counsel, "the Alliance Defense Fund, submitted amicus briefs for the trial court and appeals court levels, but has not been invited to submit a brief for the Supreme Court."
