Death of historian Howard Zinn

This is a rare departure from my usual beat, but I can't help expressing my widely shared sorrow over the loss of eminent historian Howard Zinn, who died today. I am among many admirers who will draw lasting inspiration from his commitment to civil rights, and from his People's History of the United States.
